Possibility of petrol shortage in twin cities, Lahore

Letter stated that Punjab govt should take immediate steps to supply crude oil from the Attock Oil Refinery

Islamabad: There is a risk of shortage of petroleum products in the federal capital Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Lahore.

The Ministry of Petroleum sent a letter to the Chief Secretary of Punjab for immediate action regarding the shortage of petrol in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Lahore.

The letter stated that the Punjab government should take immediate steps to supply crude oil from the Attock Oil Refinery.

The letter further stated that the supply of crude oil to the refinery and the supply of petroleum products from there have also stopped. If the matter is not resolved immediately, there is a fear of a shortage of petroleum products.

The letter sent to the Chief Secretary also added that due to the closure of the routes, petroleum products are not being supplied to the twin cities and Lahore, and fuel tankers are stuck on various highways. A comprehensive plan should be made to resolve the problem so that uninterrupted oil supply continues.
